Entrepreneurial Practice

Module code: 5ENTP005W
Faculty: Westminster Business School
Credit Level: 5
Credit value: 20
Available to: Westminster Business School students only, however students on some courses are unable to choose Westminster Electives – see list of exemptions. Please note elective modules are subject to availability.

This module provides a way for you to pursue enterprise and entrepreneurial skills through the process of entrepreneurial learning. You will organise a revenue generation project with a team of five students, which has to be approved by the module leader.

The module is a real-life project which is tied to revenue generation for an organisation. The learning process is through the business generation project, and there are no formal scheduled classes or seminars, although you will maintain regular contact with the module leader through a weekly workshop. Working as a group you will submit weekly action plans electronically through Blackboard. These will become a repository of experiences undertaken, feedback given, learning achieved and reflection while completing the professional placement.

By the end of the module you will have developed an insight into real-life entrepreneurial development, and be able to analyse processes, practices and roles, and identify issues of significance for entrepreneurial learning. You will also be able to reflect on the entrepreneurial learning experience, and link it to your future employability and entrepreneurship development. Assessment will be based around three key pieces of work – a 1,000-word individual written log, a 1,000-word project action report, and a 2,000-word individual report.
