Annual Lecture 2016
On 6 December 2016 the Graduate School welcomed Professor Carenza Lewis to give this year’s Annual Lecture.
Carenza explained how she mobilised communities across a large area of the UK to contribute to her ground-breaking 10-year research project looking into the impact of the Black Death on settlement patterns and populations using archaeological finds.
The audience were clearly impressed – not only by the scale of the research but also by the immediate and longer term beneficial impacts, particularly for young people and their interest in and attitude towards education.
