The Doctoral Researcher Development Programme, or DRDP, consists of tailor-made workshops, specialist skills sessions and personal development planning activities, designed to develop experience and skills relevant to academic study. They also help build the confidence and skills to engage in reflective practice and plan a professional career.
The programme is based on the national Vitae Researcher Development Framework which is endorsed by the UKRI, the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) and many other UK Higher Education sector stakeholders. This means that the DRDP covers topics and issues identified by practicing researchers, approaching them from a discipline-specific perspective and also considering research activity in a wider context. Our programme has been designed to introduce a wide range of qualities, skills and attributes that a successful researcher develops throughout their career.
All DRDP workshops and activities can be searched and booked on the Inkpath platform. Inkpath helpfully recommends DRDP workshops based on preferences. A personalised portfolio can be built that records DRDP attendance, as well as other internal and external training, including conferences, exhibitions, and publications. Inkpath can be accessed through the Inkpath Web App or by downloading the Inkpath mobile app (Android and iOS).
Visit our DRDP website for the programme and booking information.
We wish you good luck with your studies and we hope that you will find our developmental programme a valuable element of your research experience with us.
