Symposium: The Law School of the Future

Date 8 September 2026
Time 9am - 7pm
Location On campus or online

After the success of last year’s symposium, the Centre for Legal Education and the Legal Profession at Westminster Law School, University of Westminster, is delighted to announce its second annual free hybrid symposium, The Law School of the Future, taking place on Tuesday 8 September 2026.

At a time of significant change across higher education and the legal sector, the symposium will bring together legal educators, academics, practitioners, and sector stakeholders to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of legal education and the legal profession. The event offers an important space for collaboration, reflection, and the exchange of ideas on how law schools can best prepare the next generation of lawyers in an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving world.

Through a range of engaging sessions and discussions, attendees can expect conversations on curriculum innovation, student engagement, employability, wellbeing, ethics, generative AI, legal technology, and the future of the “human lawyer” – exploring the interpersonal, reflective, and professional skills that remain central to legal practice. The symposium will also provide opportunities to share research, practical approaches, and best practice while strengthening connections across the legal education community.

The symposium will take place at Westminster Law School, University of Westminster, London, with the option to attend online. Attendance is free but registration is essential. Please register to attend, either in person or online, by Friday 4 September.
