Single-semester students
If you are studying with us on the exchange programme for one semester, you must obtain the correct permission before you travel to the UK.
Depending on your nationality, you must do one of the following before travelling to the UK:
- Visa nationals must apply for and receive a Standard Visitor Visa before travelling.
- Non-visa nationals must apply for and receive an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before travelling.
You must not travel to the UK until you have received either your Standard Visitor Visa or ETA, as required.
Dual British or Irish citizens do not need an ETA but must travel using a valid British or Irish passport. You cannot travel on a passport from another nationality unless it includes a Certificate of Entitlement.

Year-long students
If you will be studying a course that is longer than six months, you will need a Student Visa.
