Westminster Law School

Westminster Law School offers a first-rate education in Law in the very heart of London, with award-winning members of staff and top ratings in research.

Our taught courses range from undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and research degrees. We also offer highly respected conversion courses for non-law graduates wishing to embark upon a career in law.

Our school is known for its practical approach to teaching and learning. You will be taught by academic staff who are leaders in their field. We’re 100 per cent committed to providing a friendly and supportive environment to all our students. You’ll be given a high degree of personal attention and the opportunity to work in groups wherever possible, enabling you to flourish and reach your full potential.

We are proud that our students and staff come from an enormous range of backgrounds. Many of our staff sit on the Law Society’s Diversity and Equality Committee and the School participates in the Law Society’s Diversity Access Scheme.

The School also has a student law clinic which provides students with the unique opportunity to participate in real client cases, working under the supervision of qualified staff, enabling them to gain invaluable work experience.

We're proud of all our former students, and keep in touch with them through an active alumni association. Large numbers of our graduates enter the legal profession and enjoy highly successful careers. Our alumni include presidents of the Law Society, judges and QCs, as well as young lawyers or barristers of the year. Many of our Masters and PhD students have chosen careers in international tribunal and commercial institutions or as academics.

The School also has extensive international links with institutions and the professions. We also have students from across the globe studying with us and provide a fantastic level of support for them through our International Education Office.

There are flourishing student societies including the Law society and the Bar Society, providing workshops and inviting key speakers to talk to students, social events, law balls, career and fundraising events.

Our facilities include:

  • library containing a wealth of legal and social science materials, spaces for group work and quiet study
  • a skills suite and mock courtroom
  • access to a range of electronic resources

The Westminster Law School building is also a few minutes’ walk from additional student recreation facilities in Regent Street, New Cavendish Street and Wells Street.

The School has an international reputation in international and comparative law, socio-legal research and international commercial and financial law.
