Lucy Earl

After teaching English during her placement year, Lucy saw a huge gap in the market for fun, free online English lessons. After providing her father with a business plan, he gave her a £500 business loan, she started the ‘English with Lucy’ YouTube channel in her final year of university; within its first year she gained 100,000 subscribers and 2.5 million views. After graduating with a First, she decided to focus on turning the channel into a business and worked on it full-time.

In just over two years, more than 1 million students have subscribed to the channel, with 40 million views. Currently, between 2,000 and 4,000 students subscribe every day. The channel has been featured in The Times, ITV News and BBC News, and Lucy works with major brands like Babbel and The Telegraph to create highly successful influencer marketing campaigns. In 2018, Lucy is looking to release her first commercial course and further develop her brand. Lucy has spoken at University of Westminster events on several occasions.

Gautom Menon

Gautom is the founder and owner of Wild Tiger Rum, established in only 2016 – India's first premium rum manufactured in Kerala, for export and travel retail only, which now retails in 30 countries less than two years later. Recently, Gautom was recognized by GQ Magazine as one of the Top 10 innovators in India and Top 50 Influential Entrepreneurs under the age of 40. A University of Westminster news story on this achievement was published in August 2017.

The brand donates 10 percent of its profits towards tiger conservation in Southern India through its non-profit initiative, Wild Tiger Foundation. Over 80% of Wild Tiger’s workforce are female workers, while most of the raw material and packaging elements are sourced from the surrounding community, with a firm belief in local, inclusive growth.

Sameer Pitalwalla

Founded in 2013, Culture Machine is a digital media company whose mission is to use storytelling and technology to build great digital brands that people love. By combining cutting edge technology with great content, it currently runs some of Asia’s largest digital media brands and also licenses its core technologies to advertisers, media companies and agency partners the world over. Culture Machine has offices in India (Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad) and the United States of America (Delaware).

With $21.5 million funding in a span of two years from Tiger Global, Zodius Capital and Times Internet, Culture Machine is storming the digital platform across multiple genres of entertainment. Prior to the inception of Culture Machine, Sameer headed the digital media business at Disney India, and in 2015, Sameer was featured in the prestigious Forbes India 30 Under 30 list. In 2017, Sameer won a coveted British Council Study UK Alumni Award – the Entrepreneurial Award in India. He also hosted Westminster students in a 2017 Westminster Working Cultures trip to Mumbai.
