Brian Large scholarship

The Brian Large Scholarship offers £10,000 to support UK students undertaking the full-time MSc Transport Planning course at the University of Westminster. It is aimed at applicants who are committed to building a career in the UK transport sector and who may not be able to pursue full-time study without financial support.

Eligibility

Candidates must be UK residents, hold an offer for the full-time MSc Transport Planning at the University of Westminster, and demonstrate a clear commitment to developing a transport career in the UK.

Criteria

Priority will be given to candidates who:

  • are very unlikely to be able to study full time without the bursary;
  • have a good understanding of career opportunities in transport and of the career they wish to develop;
  • have a good first degree, preferably at least a 2:1, and/or, for candidates with professional experience, can demonstrate a high level of competence and strong commitment to their work;
  • do not already hold non-repayable awards totalling more than £8,000 at the time of application.
  • Bursary holders should not undertake paid employment that affects their participation in any aspect of the course, including timetabled classes, workshops, seminars, group discussions, visits and other collective activities.
Number available

Up to four bursaries nationally for UK students studying full time for a transport Master’s at a UK university. The University of Westminster may submit up to three applications for consideration.
