The Soho Basement hosted the Being Human Festival for the second time in 2018. The theme this year was ‘Origins and Endings’ and we focussed on the birth of the Soho Theatre, 50 years ago in November 1968. On 23 November, the theatre's founder, Fred Proud, directed a reading of the first ever Soho Theatre production, Friedrich Durrenmatt's short play One Autumn Evening. This was streamed live, broadening the original concept of the lunchtime theatre and providing an opportunity for a wider audience to disrupt their day.

In addition to the reading of One Autumn Evening, the recording also includes an Introduction by Matt Morrison, a Q&A with Fred Proud and closing remarks by Guy Osborn.

Fred also produced a lovely tribute to a very important creative force for the Soho Poly, John Hallé.
