Entry requirements

Applying for a course

If you are interested in studying for a Bachelor's degree (eg a BA, BSc, BEng or LLB) at the University of Westminster, you will need to check that you meet our entry requirements.

We have included typical entry requirements below, but these are simply a guideline. Some courses may also have specific subject or grade requirements, which will be listed on individual course pages.

You will typically need to have one of the following:

  • Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination in six CAPE units with Grade III or above, including two single-unit courses. Some courses such as Law, Media and Architecture may have higher requirements.
  • A levels
  • Associate degree (from University of West Indies and other tertiary Institutions)
  • a recognised International Foundation course from a UK institution. Entry requirements vary but we normally ask for between 60% and 65%

Our partner college, Kaplan International College London, offers a Foundation Certificate leading to entry to a broad range of our Bachelor's degrees.

The English language requirements for our courses are provided on individual course pages as minimum IELTS scores.

Applying for a course

  • Bachelors degree with a score of B / GPA 2.00–2.99 / Second Class Lower Division. Students applying for postgraduate courses requiring a UK 2:1 degree will need B+ / GPA 3.00–3.59 / Second Class Upper Division, and those applying for a course requiring a UK First Class degree will need A / GPA 3.60+ / First Class.
