English language support – during your studies

The University of Westminster’s Academic English modules have been designed to allow you to consolidate, extend and develop your proficiency in Academic English, and are available whether you are studying at undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral level. These modules are for students already enrolled on a degree course at the University of Westminster.

In addition to formal classes the Academic Liaison and Learning Development Team delivers workshops on a range of academic skills, such as referencing, essay writing, critical thinking, academic language, and presentation skills.

Please note: where students have an elective module in their degree programme, the course can be taken as their elective choice. Where students do not have an elective module, they can take the course as an additional programme. Where it is taken as an additional module any credits will not count towards students’ final award. Please also note that courses start at the beginning of each semester and availability is subject to capacity so students should register as early as possible at the beginning of the semester. Other workshops may run throughout the year.
