What information Lynda/LinkedIn collect about you 

A personal account with the default name "Univ of Westminster member" is created when you first login to Lynda.com.  This account uses your user ID which takes the form of an email address, and identifies you as either a member of staff or a student.  No other information is shared with Lynda.com unless you choose to do this. Lynda.com will not have access to your password, as we use Shibboleth authentication meaning that you are authenticated by University of Westminster systems. 

You have the option of adding personal information to your profile.  You can delete this information at any time.

How your information will be used 

For details about how your information is used by Lynda.com, see Lynda.com’s privacy policy. Note that the University has a LyndaCampus licence. 

You will not receive emails from Lynda.com unless you fill in the relevant sections in the profile section.  Lynda.com are not authorised to send you commercial partner emails nor to send you emails from the LinkedIn Corporation into which Lynda.com merged on 1st June 2016.

Within the University, your data may be used for reporting on uptake of the Lynda.com service.  Your personal data is visible to a few nominated staff, who will treat your data in confidence. They will not report on any individual's usage or training history unless authorised by the individual to do so.

Where this information is stored

Your data is stored on Lynda.com servers and may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area.
