Academic skills workshops

The Academic Liaison and Learning Development Team offers workshops to help you build the academic skills you need for your studies. Sessions cover topics such as:

  • researching
  • referencing
  • essay writing
  • report writing
  • reflective writing
  • dissertations
  • literature reviews
  • critical thinking
  • academic language
  • time management
  • presentations

Our workshops are interactive, supportive and designed to give you practical strategies you can use in your coursework, assessments and independent study. You are welcome to ask questions and take part at your own pace.

You do not need to prepare in advance unless the event information asks you to. Just bring any questions you would like to explore during the session.

Who can attend the workshops?

Workshops are open to all Westminster students and are free of charge.

Where do the workshops take place?

Most workshops are delivered online through Microsoft Teams, so you can join from wherever you are studying.

Book your place through Engage – Academic skills events.

If you have any access requirements, please let us know when booking or contact the team in advance.
