Marlena Hien
Public Relations MA, 2010
Marlena Hien has built one of Europe's most successful D2C consumer brands. In 2018, she co-founded BEARS WITH BENEFITS, a female health supplement brand created by women, for women, to address a category underserved by mainstream healthcare. Fully bootstrapped and 100% female-founded, the company scaled to over €15m in annual revenue in under four years before its acquisition by France's Havea Group in 2022. This was an eight-figure exit that places Marlena among a tiny minority of female-only founding teams worldwide to achieve this scale of liquidity event. Today, BEARS WITH BENEFITS generates €60m in annual revenue across ten countries including the US and is stocked by leading European retailers. The brand was named in the Financial Times Europe's 1000 Fastest-Growing Companies of 2025.
Beyond her company, Marlena invests as a business angel in female-founded ventures and is a keynote speaker championing bootstrapping and structural equity for women in business.
