Amplifying BAME Voices at Westminster Business School

This project funded by the Quinton Hogg Trust explores the lived experiences of both BAME students and staff to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges they face within WBS. By examining both student and staff perspectives, the project uncovers the psychological and systemic barriers affecting their success in academia. Its innovative approach lies in its dual focus: engaging both students and staff as collaborative researchers and content creators. This project aims to uncover key factors contributing to the widening award gap for BAME students, while simultaneously exploring the unique challenges faced by BAME staff members.

It explores how students, educators, and entrepreneurs build real-world capabilities through universities and coworking spaces. Using national surveys and focus groups, the project will develop an evidence-based model that better connects education with entrepreneurial practice—enhancing learning and reducing start-up failures.
