This research draws heavily on empirical evidence to reach its conclusions on each of its strands of activity. Researchers in the Centre often generate their own qualitative and quantitative data, making use of a wide range of social science methods in doing so. Given our expertise, we are also involved in providing education and training in socio-legal empirical methods to students and early career researchers from around the world.

We have partnered for a second year with the London Centre for Social Studies to host the fifth annual PhD Methodology Conference, headed by Naomi Creutzfeldt and Marc Mason from the University of Westminster.

Lisa Webley is also Director of the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies course: Introduction to Legal Research Methods for MPhil/PhD Students and regularly contributes with other members of the Centre to the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies' national training programme on research methods for PhD students and their supervisors.
