Second-year Westminster Real Estate BSc Honours student Soundarya Sethi has been named as a University Society Speaker for The Developer’s Club’s Future of Development Conference 2025, representing the next generation of leaders in property and development.

The Developers Club (TDC) was created from a shared ambition to help tackle the UK’s housing crisis and to become the UK’s leading network for emerging property developers committed to delivering new homes at scale. To harness the power of collaboration, its founders set out to bring together some of the UK’s most promising developers and industry partners, collectively working toward the goal of delivering 10,000 new homes by 2030.
TDC hosted its third Future of Development Conference on 4 November, which brought together Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) developers, industry leaders and students such as Soundarya to explore the evolving landscape of UK development. The event celebrated the vital role SMEs play in shaping communities and the built environment, while encouraging collaboration, innovation and open discussion about the future of the property sector.
Key topics discussed were the growth and scaling of SME businesses and their impact on employment, planning policy and housing targets under new Labour initiatives. The panel spoke about the role of Homes England in supporting SME developers, innovation, construction and emerging technologies in the sector as well as the future landscape of property development and sustainability.

Soundarya said: “I am truly honoured to have had the opportunity to represent Westminster on the student panel at The Developer’s Club - Future of Development Conference 2025. It was an outstanding experience engaging in discussions on key real estate industry topics, including housing, the planning process, policies and technology, alongside my fellow panellists.”
Dr Jan Wilcox, Senior Lecturer in Real Estate, added: “I am delighted to see that our relationship with The Developer’s Club is continuing to go from strength to strength. This is the second year that they have selected a University of Westminster Real Estate student to appear on their panel at their annual conference. Soundarya, who is President of the Westminster Real Estate Society, is an excellent choice as she exemplifies the 'Go Westminster' attitude by embracing every opportunity she is offered.”
The conference directly contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4: Quality Education, 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure and 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. Since 2019, the University of Westminster has used the SDGs holistically to frame strategic decisions to help students and colleagues fulfil their potential and contribute to a more sustainable, equitable and healthier society.
