How are the pre-sessional courses assessed?

You will be expected to do homework on a daily basis, which your tutors will check. This will highlight your progress and the areas where you still need to improve.

At the end of the pre-sessional course you will be formally assessed on the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking in academic contexts.

Provided you reach the level of English required from your University course you will automatically progress onto your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree course. Please note that in the unlikely event that you do not pass the pre-sessional course, you will need to defer entry to the University.

When you start on your degree you can normally continue developing your Academic English skills by taking an in-sessional module. Please check details on the Academic English page.
