Emergencies

On campus

  • Call 5555 from a campus landline (recommended first step)
  • Call 0203 506 4558 from your mobile
  • Visit the nearest reception desk
  • Calling 5555 (or 0203 506 4558) ensures trained first aiders or on-campus colleagues can respond quickly, whether it’s a fall, fainting episode, panic attack, or other non-life-threatening incident. If emergency services are needed, the University switchboard team will liaise with them and provide precise location details to avoid delays.
  • If someone is experiencing a life-threatening emergency such as a heart attack, stroke or severe bleeding, call 999 immediately. Then contact Reception so they can guide emergency services to the right location.

Off campus

  • Call 999 for emergencies such as loss of consciousness, severe chest pain, serious accidents or heavy bleeding.
  • Go to Accident & Emergency or your nearest Minor Injuries Unit.
  • Call NHS 111 (or use the NHS app or website) for urgent but non-life-threatening medical help.
