What is safe browsing?

When you surf the internet, you’re exposed to potential IT security threats from replicated and fake websites.

Often these sites are well crafted and can appear genuine. They may even be ‘clones’ of the genuine sites, with genuine logos and text, but with fake links inserted, or they may contain malware.

You can protect yourself against these sites by keeping your browser and any plug-ins you have installed up to date.

You can also add free tools to your browser that will warn you about potential threats. Other tools will warn you when you have strayed onto a fake website designed to steal your money or details.
