About the centre
The Legal Careers, Employability and Professional Development Hub supports law students in exploring a wide range of career pathways, both within the legal profession and beyond. It helps students to develop essential skills and attributes, gain confidence in their career choices, and connect with professionals across the varied careers our graduates pursue. The Hub facilitates a broad range of activities linked to legal practice, the wider profession, and the development of students’ professional skills and attributes. Many of these initiatives are shaped and led by the Centre for Legal Education and the Legal Profession (CLELP)'s Student Fellows and Student Employability Coordinators, who play a key role in ensuring the opportunities offered are relevant, engaging, and responsive to student needs.
Drawing on strong partnerships with the legal profession, external stakeholders, alumni, and business, the Hub delivers an annual programme that enables students to gain practical experience and valuable insights into professional working life. These connections also inform and enrich the research and scholarship undertaken within the Law School, generating applied, impactful research and scholarship that responds directly to the needs and challenges of legal and professional practice.
