Mooting and advocacy are at the heart of legal education at Westminster Law School, giving students the opportunity to sharpen their research, legal reasoning, and oral presentation skills while gaining confidence in public speaking and legal argument.
In 2024–2025, Westminster Law School was proud to be part of the Supreme Court Mooting Programme, which involved multiple rounds of competition. More than 100 students from across all year groups took part, supported by workshops and training sessions designed to develop their advocacy skills. The programme culminated in a prestigious final held at the Supreme Court before Lord Briggs.
Beyond this, our students regularly represent Westminster in national and international competitions, including the International Moot Court Competition (COMMOOT), the Criminis Moot Court Competition, and the Helga Pedersen Moot. These opportunities allow students to compete on a global stage, learn from peers around the world, and demonstrate their skills in front of experienced practitioners and judges.
