About the centre
Food and Taste Studies at Westminster (FATSAW) promotes and facilitates interdisciplinary research across the University for academic staff and graduate students with a scholarly interest in the study of food, drink, taste and consumption. This network is based in the School of Social Science, led by Dr Emily Falconer, who researches food and taste and leads guided academic food tours of Central London to students, academics and the wider public.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

- London's Foodscapes
- Taste, space and consumption
- Food tourism, marketing and Industry
- Guided Food tours in London (and UK).
- Food, health and the body
- Food, gender, class and race
- Psycho-social approaches to food and eating and eating disorders
- How the study of food can invite new methodologies and pedagogies.
