Westminster graduates shortlisted for Global Creative Graduate Showcase

Fashion Design BA Honours and Graphic Design BA Honours graduates from the University of Westminster were shortlisted by leading industry experts for Arts Thread’s sixth edition of the Global Creative Graduate Showcase 2025, which celebrates the next generation of creative talent from across the world.

Graduates shortlisted for Global Creative Graduate Showcase

This year’s showcase is in collaboration with Google Arts and Culture and Monaco Foundry and has seen another significant response, with over 5,000 graduating creatives from more than 600 institutions across over 100 countries submitting their work to the world’s largest online platform for emerging creative talent.

In today’s competitive and fast-evolving creative landscape, visibility on this scale can play a transformative role, whether graduates are preparing to launch an independent practice, exhibit work, build a brand or engage in new forms of collaboration. The showcase is not only about career pathways but about championing diverse creative futures and connecting graduates with a global audience of cultural institutions, industry and peers.

Student Oscar Clarke was shortlisted in the Digital, Visual Communication and Film category and Fashion students BeomJun Jeong, Holly Laidler, Rachel Ahonaruogho, Rebecca Halpenny, Sasha Roche and Xiwen Zhang, who were all shortlisted in the Fashion, Accessories and Textiles category.

From explorations of identity, heritage and memory to bold reinterpretations of tradition through contemporary techniques, the students’ work highlights how emerging designers are using material innovation, sustainability and storytelling to engage with both personal and cultural narratives. Across the collections, themes of transformation, nostalgia and experimentation reflect a generation of graduates pushing boundaries in design thinking and creative expression.

Robert Leach, Course Leader of the Fashion Design BA Honours course, said: “As a course, we have a long-standing relationship with Arts Thread, and it has been wonderful to see the Global Creative Graduate Showcase grow year upon year into what it has become. We actively encourage our students to take advantage of everything this global platform has to offer our graduating cohort.

“This recognition of Westminster graduates is a testament to the exceptional calibre of the University’s students, the strength of the faculty and the creative environment Westminster continues to foster.”

The University’s support for students through such initiatives directly contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4: Quality Education and 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. Since 2019, the University of Westminster has used the SDGs holistically to frame strategic decisions to help students and colleagues fulfil their potential and contribute to a more sustainable, equitable and healthier society.
