Would you like to learn Arabic in London? Join one of our part-time Arabic courses at our central London Regent Street Campus – just a few minutes' walk from Oxford Circus.

Our Beginner Arabic courses start in September and January.

Who is this class for?

You have a solid intermediate knowledge of the Arabic language and its grammar, and can communicate confidently and fluently in most everyday situations.

  • Part 1 is for you if you have already studied Arabic for three years or 180 hours.
  • You can join Part 2 if you have studied Arabic for about 200 hours.
  • You can join Part 3 if you have studied Arabic for about 220 hours.

To book all three parts, please proceed with booking Part 1 and add Parts 2 and 3 to your order when prompted during the checkout process. Please note that purchasing 3 Parts together equates to one single transaction, therefore, we do not accept cancellation requests for Parts 2 and 3 individually. Cancellations requests must be made more than 16 days before the start of Part 1.

Terms and conditions

Course structure

Our Arabic lessons follow a communicative approach to language teaching, focusing on the language you need to communicate in authentic situations with an emphasis on speaking and listening. Our evening classes are taught by experienced language teachers who are native speakers of the language or equivalent.

Please note that the distribution of course content across terms may vary from year to year. This is due to the variable length of terms in different academic years. There may also be slight content variations at the discretion of the tutor. We may, for example, include additional content when general progress is good, or vary content according to students’ interests.

Learning resources

We will use Mastering Arabic 2 throughout the course. However, please wait until the first session before buying your course book.


In this term, we will cover:

  • clothes and colours
  • describing the colour and the outfit 
  • at the  clothes shop
  • at the wedding party
  • education and training
  • talking about subjects in school and university
  • culture: clothes in Iraq and language in Algeria


You will learn:

  • adjectives and colours (أحمر \ برتقالية )
  • relative pronouns(الذي \ التي )  
  • doubled verb(صمَّم \ تردّد )
  • weak verbs ( وصل \ نسي)
  • imperative verb(رَكِّز \ اِفتح )  
  • used roots ( ع ل م) ( د ر س )
  • the jussive ( لم أنسَ \ لم أقل )


In this term, we will cover:

  • news and media
  • broadcasting
  • the king’s speech
  • climate and the environment
  • holiday plans
  • talking about possibilities
  • culture: great manmade river in Libya and the life in the Gulf counties.


You will learn:

  •  formal Arabic( الفصحى )   
  • grammatical cases on nouns and adjectives( الرفع \ النصب)  
  • comparing( أكثر \ أصغر)  
  • future negative verb( لن أنام \ لن يجدوا )  
  • verbal noun ( أخبار \ مشاركة )
  • processes in the past( نُقِلَ َ \ وُجَدَ)  
  • using ( إذا \ إن ) to talk about future possibilities.


In this term, we will cover:

  • health and happiness
  • parts of the body
  • talking about illness
  • at the pharmacy
  • asking for and giving advice
  • art and cinema
  • culture :Arabic in Sudan and the writer Emile Habibi


You will learn:

  • structure to give advice\ من المفروص أن)   من اللازم أن )
  • past verb ( كنت أستمع \ كنا نذهب ) 
  • plural ( مؤلفون \ شعراء)
  • using ( قد ) with the past and present verb
  • compare between past and future (في الماضي كنت ... أما الآن أنا ....)
