If you’re studying the International Baccalaureate (IB) or European Baccalaureate (EB) you'll find details of our entry requirements on this page.
Entry requirements
The University has a long history of accepting Baccalaureate and European Diplomas for our courses.
International Baccalaureate
If you’re studying the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, you will need to meet our UCAS tariff point requirements. Where the full Diploma has not been studied we can still consider students based on meeting the required UCAS Tariff points. We can also consider IB courses where they have been studied alongside other qualifications such as national high school diplomas.
For some Bachelors courses we may require specific grades in your Higher Level (HL) subjects, e.g. in sciences.
Where a specific subject grade is required at A Level, the following is required in the IB:
- Grade A = 6 at Higher Level in relevant subject
- Grade B = 5 at Higher Level in relevant subject
- Grade C = 4 at Higher Level in relevant subject
IB Career Pathway
If you’re studying the IBCP programme, you can meet our UCAS tariff point requirements using points from several components of the Career-Related Programme. You will need to search for these separately in the Tariff calculator and then add the points together to get a final score. The components of the programme which receive Tariff points are:
- IBO Reflective Project
- IBO Certificate in Higher Level
- IBO Certificate in Standard Level
If you completed a BTEC or AAQ as part of the programme you can also search for this in the Tariff calculator and add these points on to your total.

Most courses at the University of Westminster do not require a specific GCSE or A level Mathematics qualification. Where it is needed it will be listed on the individual course page.
