Employ a Student Ambassador

Welcome to the Employ a Student Ambassador page, where University departments can access a pool of talented, motivated students ready to contribute to various initiatives across the University of Westminster.

Our Student Ambassadors bring enthusiasm, authenticity, and a deep understanding of the student experience, making them valuable assets for any project or even.

Please note that, at present, this programme is exclusively available to internal University departments/teams.

Practical, trained student support when you need it

Pre‑vetted, trained Student Ambassadors work across the University, supporting Professional Services teams and academic colleagues in delivering high‑quality events, projects, and student‑facing activity. They provide experienced, student‑facing capacity to enhance teams when they need assistance.

What our Student Ambassadors do

Awareness and engagement

  • Peer-to-peer promotion of events, initiatives, and programmes.
  • On-the-ground outreach using a credible student voice that cuts through.

Operational and event support

  • Managing registrations, arrivals, guest flow, and logistics.
  • Acting as the welcoming, visible face of events and activities.

Administrative support

  • Accurate note-taking, data entry, and ad-hoc admin support.
  • Short-term capacity to ease pressure on busy teams.

Student insight and representation

  • Focus groups, panels, consultations, and feedback activity.
  • Authentic student perspectives to inform projects and decisions.

Why work with the Student Ambassador Programme

  • Reliable and trained: Ambassadors are recruited centrally and complete compulsory training.
  • Flexible support: Suitable for one‑off events, short projects, or peak‑period demand.
  • Student‑facing expertise: Ambassadors understand the student experience and how to engage peers effectively.
  • Low‑friction process: We manage recruitment, eligibility, and coordination.

How it works

  1. You submit a request via the Employ a Student Ambassador form, outlining numbers, dates, and duties.
  2. Costs are covered by the requesting team’s budget (see the Student Ambassador Programme Service Agreement – see below – for details).
  3. You receive reliable, experienced students, ready to work.

In short: you bring the budget, we provide properly trained student staff, specific training might need provided depending on the role.
