Collecting your ID card and completing enrolment

School welcome

11am–12pm

This event is where the senior members of the university community will welcome you to the university and the business school, highlighting exciting opportunities open to you while you study.

Location: Cayley Lecture Theatre (room LG15) (Ground floor, Luxborough building), Marylebone Campus

Course welcome

12–2pm

Join us for an exciting course welcome event where you'll meet fellow students, explore new opportunities, and kick-start an incredible learning journey!

Walking Tour of Westminster and Marylebone

2.30pm

As part of your first day at Westminster, join our School’s leaders for a Tour of Marylebone to Westminster. As part of this tour, you will be able to orientate yourself to our campus location in London and receive a tour that begins at the University and ends at the Houses of Parliament. Please join us for this complementary trip to London as your campus.

Please meet at the Marylebone Reception at 2.30pm

Course activity (Financial Markets Suite Induction)

11am–1pm

This event will introduce our new postgraduate students to our Bloomberg Suites, to train our students in foundational knowledge to support your later studies. Thes session will also be an opportunity to meet fellow students and staff of Westminster Business School.

Location: Bloomberg Financial Markets Suite, CG04 (Ground floor, Chiltern Building), Marylebone Campus

Course activity (Careers and Employability Session)

1–3pm

This event will introduce our new postgraduate students to our Bloomberg Suites, to train our students in foundational knowledge to support your later studies. Thes session will also be an opportunity to meet fellow students and staff of Westminster Business School.

Networking Event with a speaker

5–7.30pm

Start of Semester Guest Speaker – Yaz El Hakim, Careers Expert and Blockchain Entrepreneur

All students of the School of Finance and Accounting are invited to our start of semester mixer, where we will be joined by guest speaker Yaz El Hakim. Yaz started his career as a Sports Psychologist at the University of Chichester, where he quickly rose to leadership positions within university. Moving into the tech sector, Yaz saw the potential of Blockchain technologies and FinTech to create his own business in 2020. 5 years on, his success continues to grow where his talk will focus on his journey, his lessons learned for your career, and his top tips for finding your gap in the market. This session will also include networking before and after, including complementary refreshments.
