English Literature and History BA – 2025
I took part in the Student Ambassador Programme and absolutely loved it! I made so many friends, gained insight into working life in London, and took on new responsibilities that helped me mature and grow in confidence.
Why did you choose the University of Westminster?
I chose Westminster because I wanted to study in the heart of Central London - to be surrounded by the buzz and history of such an important city. I was looking for a degree that combined my two passions, Literature and History, and I wanted to feel like more than just a student number. Westminster offered exactly that. The small class sizes, usually around 10–15 students for my course, allowed me to build real, personal connections with both my lecturers and my classmates. That sense of community helped me grow enormously as a young adult.
How has your experience been studying in London?
Absolutely incredible! London truly is one of the greatest cities in the world. It can be expensive, but there are many free and discounted opportunities for students. You never run out of things to do!
What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?
My course was everything I hoped for and more. The range of modules was so diverse that I was always interested and engaged. The two subjects complemented each other perfectly, giving me variety without ever feeling disconnected. The classes were always well-prepared, but there was still room for authenticity, spontaneity, and lively discussion, which made them even more enjoyable.
How have you found academic support as part of your studies?
The support was excellent. Any email I sent was answered within 24–48 hours, and lecturers always had their doors open for one-to-one sessions to go over assignments or answer extra questions.
Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?
Definitely the library - with a course like mine, books are your best friend. I also made great use of museums and archives, which were an important part of my learning experience.
