Diplomacy and Global Politics MA – 2027
I enjoyed the interactive nature of discussions, which helped share knowledge and exchange ideas.
Why did you choose the University of Westminster?
I chose the University of Westminster because I was really drawn to its practical approach to learning. Opportunities like visiting Brussels and gaining first-hand insight into the core EU institutions stood out to me, as they bring what you learn in the classroom to life.
How has your experience been studying in London?
London is an exciting and fast-paced city with countless opportunities both during and beyond your studies. One of the things I enjoy most is the wide range of networking events and career opportunities available in my field, which makes it easier to gain practical experience while studying.
Tell us about your course (what have you particularly enjoyed about the programme)?
I have really enjoyed the interactive seminars and discussions, as they encourage students to share their knowledge and exchange ideas. I've also had the opportunity to visit embassies across London, which has brought many of the topics we study to life and given me a unique perspective on international relations.
How have you found academic support as part of your studies?
The academic support has been great throughout my studies. My lecturers are supportive and genuinely care about helping students succeed! There is a strong sense of community within the programme, which creates a really encouraging learning environment.
How has Zone29 - our home of careers and enterprise - helped you with your career journey?
Zone29 has been great for getting my applications ready. The support with my CV and cover letters helped me present my experience much better!
Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course
Outside of my course, I've been involved in the European Affairs Institute and the African Affairs Think Tank Society. They've given me the opportunity to attend embassy visits across London, meet diplomats, and connect with people working in international relations, which has been a great complement to my studies!
What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?
I'd say make the most of everything the university has to offer. Get involved in societies, attend events, and take every opportunity that comes your way.
What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?
I'd say it's the opportunities. Whether it's joining societies, attending events, or meeting professionals in your field, there are so many ways to make the most of your time at Westminster.
What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?
I knew London would be a great place to study, but I didn't expect the city itself to become such an important part of my learning experience. For a university as large as Westminster, I was pleasantly surprised by how strong the sense of community is.
