Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

The University of Westminster provided a diverse set of optional modules, which were of great interest to me, and the reviews from the alumni on the University’s ethics were very inspiring.

How has your experience been studying in London?

I would describe my experience of studying here as challenging and insightful. I felt supported by the friendly environment at the University, which helped me get through my studies with a positive mindset. I experienced a different, more integrated, and versatile approach to studying, which significantly broadened my perception of a number of debatable topics in international politics. Looking back, I can definitely see the difference the University of Westminster has made.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

The wide array of optional modules stimulated my interest in expanding my knowledge on different aspects of international relations and politics. The classes introduced me to numerous thought-provoking topics, which were debated and discussed in a fruitful manner without ever making me feel left out. I gained a lot of awareness on many perspectives I have never encountered before, which made me feel fulfilled and helped me to grow.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

I greatly enjoyed the ease of communication with the lecturers on my course. The openness and eagerness to help students made me feel more confident in my studying process and substantially more engaged during the classes.

Tell us about your experience of using the University Careers and Employability Service 

I found it to be very helpful in determining my future path and clarifying my next steps in pursuing it.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

Do not hesitate to approach your lecturers and tutors. They are all extremely understanding and involved in their students’ lives; do not miss the opportunity to express your concerns and get advice from such qualified academics.

What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?

Being part of a very international and welcoming community.

What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?

The individual approach towards each student, responsible staff, and plenty of exhilarating opportunities.

Your Thoughts

I would like to note the great support I have received when Russia’s invasion of Ukraine took place. Being heavily influenced by these events as a Ukrainian myself, I appreciated the help, affability, and concern of the academic staff. Their assistance helped me to continue my studies and feel reassured by the moral support that I was thoughtfully provided with.
