Why did you choose the University of Westminster?
Apart from living in London, the choice stemmed from the extensive level of opportunities that a major city can provide. I choose Westminster because of its amazing social mobility, strong links to professional industries and the historic significance the institution holds in London. It is a privilege to be a part of the history that the University holds and be in the heart of one of the biggest cities.
How has your experience been studying in London?
London is a flexible and easily accessible city, which allows me to travel to all the University campuses. Working and studying alongside many people who are likeminded in their goals, in one of the most diverse places in the world is a blessing that I have the privilege of being a part of.
Tell us about your course and what have you particularly enjoyed?
Architectural Technology offers the perfect balance between creative, artistic design and logical, technical problem-solving. That combination is something I have particularly enjoyed throughout the course. There is a real sense of satisfaction in taking innovative ideas and proving they are practical and buildable, which makes the subject especially rewarding and unique.
How have you found academic support as part of your studies?
The lecturers are highly competent and support natural growth in students. They understand the university process is rigorous and requires a level of independence to cultivate full potential. I found this to be a great method of learning as they helped me scaffold my own thinking process rather than spoon-feeding ideas.
Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?
Easily the Creative and Advanced Technologies Lab.

I landed my year-out placement opportunity from the University’s employability hub. The level of support the university provides in not only educating but encourages professional development.
What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?
You should make the most of everything the university has to offer. The travel and accessibility can either work to your advantage or limit your experience, so it’s important to build connections, get involved, and make the effort to form a strong network. Westminster also has a welcoming and diverse social community, where people are encouraged to be themselves and express their individuality.
