Fashion Business Management MA – 2011

It was a game changer; the postgraduate course defined the rest of my career.

What was the benefit of studying a postgraduate course at the University of Westminster?

The MA gave me the clarification I needed on which sector to pursue. I always wanted to work in Fashion. Waking up every day and loving what I do, makes me feel proud.

I always stand out amongst other candidates due to my strong academic background and the investment I made in my education. It also allowed me to articulate myself professionally and offer well-executed strategies which a lot of other colleagues did not have the capacity to do at my level.”

I am very proud to be part of the Westminster alumni network. My education at the University of Westminster was integral to launching my career and still gives me the confidence in driving my own progression to this day.

What was it like to study at the University of Westminster?

I was working full-time while writing my dissertation and I really felt the support and guidance from Westminster was there. I would describe the environment at the University of Westminster as really vibrant. You are free to be yourself and there is a wealth of opportunity.

What were your expectations before starting the postgraduate course?

When I came back to the postgraduate course, I had a couple of years’ experience. The postgraduate course really allowed me to explore another side of the fashion industry. I gained clarity on which sector of the fashion industry to pursue for the rest of my career.

What made the University of Westminster stand-out?

I completed my BA at the University of Westminster, which was a linked MA course, written by Lorraine Harper - who also wrote the MA. The BA allowed me to launch my career and felt that it was a great investment in terms of experience in the UK and study abroad. I was also attracted by the level of investment in Fashion Business courses at that time.

It was a game changer; the postgraduate course defined the rest of my career.
