Studying the course was highly beneficial as it granted me access to excellent facilities and a variety of equipment. This enabled me to apply and further develop the newly acquired skills, which now serve as the foundation supporting my artistic career.

Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

Initially, I selected the University of Westminster based on the exceptional course leader and the outstanding facilities it offered. However, after attending an open day visit where I had the opportunity to speak with the course leader and explore the facilities, including a darkroom and photo studio, my decision was solidified.

How has your experience been studying in London?

Studying in London exposed me to a wealth of inspiration through exhibitions, art events, and fairs. This experience has greatly enriched my artistic practice and broadened my creative horizons.

Tell us about your course and what have you particularly enjoyed?

I enjoyed exploring the theoretical and conceptual aspects of photography during the course, as it significantly enriched my artistic perspective. This deepened understanding empowered me to approach photography from a more insightful angle, enabling me to create meaningful and thought-provoking visual narratives.

Learning photography from a theoretical viewpoint allowed me to add a new layer to my artwork, enhancing its depth and meaning. Exploring the conceptual aspects of photography not only expanded my creative horizons but also equipped me with a profound understanding of the visual language, enabling me to communicate complex ideas effectively through my art.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

Receiving feedback and insights from my tutors proved invaluable in shaping my master's project. The lectures not only equipped us with a profound understanding of the art world but also effectively prepared us to embark on our journeys as artists after graduation.

Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?

Access to the printmaking workshop has had a significant impact on my artistic practice. It provided the opportunity to learn new techniques that, in turn, opened new doors for my career.

Participating in the university’s Career Mentoring Programme connected me with a professional in my field. My mentor's unwavering support was instrumental, offering invaluable insights and knowledge crucial for entering the industry with confidence.

Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course

Throughout the academic year, I actively submitted my work to various photography competitions and was honoured to receive an award from one of them. This accomplishment served as a stepping stone, paving the way for a solo exhibition following my graduation.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

My advice would be to make the most of all the opportunities on offer, from receiving feedback from your tutors, learning from the knowledgeable technicians or using the range of facilities for experimenting with new skills. Train yourself during the course to be prepared to enter the industry upon graduation.

What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?

The University of Westminster offers comprehensive support both before and after your studies, in addition to during your time at Westminster. This ensures a sense of security, reassurance, and guidance to keep you on the right track.
