Architecture BA – 2027

The collaborative studio culture, access to workshops and model-making facilities, and opportunities to work on real-world inspired briefs have all been invaluable in building my confidence as a designer.

Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I chose Westminster because it offers a strong architecture programme, excellent facilities, and the unique opportunity to study in central London, where architecture and culture surround you at every turn.

How has your experience been studying in London?

Studying in London has been both exciting and inspiring. Being immersed in a city with such a rich mix of people, cultures, and architectural styles has pushed me creatively. I also have constant access to exhibitions, talks, and real-world examples of design. The pace is fast and challenging, but it keeps me motivated and deeply connected to the industry.

Tell us about your course (what have you particularly enjoyed about the programme)?

My architecture course at Westminster has been both challenging and rewarding. I particularly enjoy the balance between creative design projects and technical skill development, alongside the freedom to explore my own ideas with guidance from experienced tutors. The collaborative studio culture, access to workshops and model-making facilities, and opportunities to work on real-world inspired briefs have all been invaluable in building my confidence as a designer.

How have you found the academic/lecturer support as part of your studies?

The academic and lecturer support has been exceptional. Tutors are approachable, genuinely invested in our progress, and always ready to provide detailed feedback and guidance. Their support has had a huge impact on my learning and growth.

Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?

The Fabrication Laboratory is an inspiring space for making and experimenting, while the dedicated study areas make working on large drawings more manageable and comfortable than I ever imagined. Both have become essential parts of my creative process.

Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course (e.g., trips, study abroad, societies, competitions)?

I took part in the Amsterdam trip, which focused on climate literacy. The experience was eye-opening and has influenced how I approach architecture and sustainability, shaping my perspective for future projects and my career.
