Moreover, the university’s established reputation and its prime central London location provide a vibrant and dynamic environment that fosters both academic excellence and personal development. This combination of quality education and an inspiring setting makes Westminster the ideal place for me to grow academically, professionally, and personally.
What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?
The Sports Management course has been highly engaging and informative, offering a comprehensive and well-structured exploration of all the key aspects of sport throughout its duration. I have particularly appreciated the clarity of the programme’s objectives, which are clearly outlined and consistently reinforced through the curriculum. The use of current and well-known examples in class discussions has made the content relevant, easy to relate to and enjoyable to learn about. Additionally, the assignments are closely aligned with the topics covered in lectures, making them not only educational but also enjoyable to research and write.
How have you found academic support as part of your studies?
The academic and lecturer support throughout my studies has been exceptional. All lecturers are highly knowledgeable and well-prepared with their teaching materials, demonstrating expertise in their respective fields. They consistently show a strong commitment to supporting students and are always willing to go above and beyond to help when needed. Many of them bring valuable first-hand experience to their teaching, which greatly enhances the learning experience. Additionally, the inclusion of guest lecturers - many of whom hold prominent positions in the current sporting industry which adds further depth and real-world relevance to the course content.
Tell us about your experience of using the University Careers and Employability Service?
My experience of the University's Career and Employability Service has been very positive. The platform is an excellent resource for students, offering valuable support in building a strong professional profile. Through the platform, I have also completed several online Forage internships in fields that align with my interests. These experiences have provided useful insights into what working in those industries is like, helping me to better understand potential career paths and develop relevant skills.
Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course
Beyond my academic studies, I have actively participated in sports clubs at the university, which have significantly enriched my overall experience. I am a proud member of the badminton team and currently serve as the vice-captain of the tennis team. While the competitive aspect is rewarding, I particularly value the social side of these clubs, as they offer an excellent opportunity to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Interacting with teammates who have different approaches to learning and playing the sport has broadened my perspective and deepened my appreciation for the global nature of sport. These societies are a fantastic way to meet new people, socialize, and enjoy playing sports at any level, creating a well-rounded and enjoyable university experience.

Additionally, studying in London offers a vibrant and dynamic lifestyle - there is always something happening in the city, from cultural events to social activities, ensuring that life outside of studies is equally engaging.

Additionally, the wide variety of societies and clubs available allows students to explore their interests and connect with others who share similar passions. The quality of the academic staff is also a major strength - professors are not only experts in their fields but also deeply committed to supporting student success.
What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?
The most surprising and unexpected aspects of the course is the opportunity to participate in numerous field trips to renowned sporting venues, which enhance the overall learning experience. These visits provide valuable first-hand insight into the operations and management of major sports organisations. Notable destinations have included iconic locations such as Lord’s Cricket Ground, Wimbledon, and Stamford Bridge, amongst others. These experiences offer a practical perspective on the business and operational aspects of the sports industry, effectively complementing the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom.
Additionally, the depth of first-hand industry experience that our professors bring to their teaching has been incredibly enriching. The assignments are another standout feature - they are highly sport-focused and often based on current teams and real-world events, making them both engaging and enjoyable to research and write on.
