Management MA- 2023

I have thoroughly enjoyed my Management MA course at the University of Westminster.

Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I pursued my first master’s degree at the University of Westminster due to its excellent reputation for employability. I value the fact that numerous University of Westminster campuses are located in central London, allowing international students like myself to fully immerse themselves in the dynamic city. Furthermore, the university is renowned for its dedication to equity, diversity and inclusivity, making it a clear choice for me to continue my studies.

How has your experience been studying in London?

Being a student in London has offered me abundant opportunities for exploration. As a management student, I consider it a privilege to have the chance to study in the vibrant centre of the city twice. Every time I pursue a postgraduate degree at the University of Westminster, I experience significant personal and professional development, which plays a key role in shaping my career.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

I have thoroughly enjoyed my Management MA course at the University of Westminster. Especially the residential weekend, which gave me a meaningful chance to bond with my fellow students and lecturers. It provided a practical experience for acquiring leadership and management skills. Additionally, the formative assessments were beneficial, especially for students new to the UK education system. As a course representative, I found fulfilment in collaborating closely with my peers and lecturers to enhance the overall learning experience.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

The lecturers are highly supportive and approachable. In my role as a course representative, they regularly inquire about students' feedback. Students are actively encouraged to suggest changes to enhance our learning journey. There is a sense of flexibility, and students feel empowered with a degree of control over their learning experience.

Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?

For conducting our research, students have access to SPSS and NVivo software. Additionally, students can utilise Bloomberg data and facilities at the Marylebone campus. As Westminster Business School students, we are eligible for a free subscription to a number of online resources, including the Financial Times, which serves as an incredible resource for economic subjects.

Tell us about your experience of using the University Careers and Employability Service

I have actively utilised the University Career and Employability Service, consistently securing a mentor each time I enrolled at the University of Westminster. I can confidently say that my career began to take shape thanks to the Mentoring Program. This initiative afforded me the valuable opportunity to connect with professionals from reputable organisations in London, allowing me to gain insights into their experiences.

Additionally, I enrolled in the Westminster Employability Award, which could be considered one of the most effective career development programmes. it equipped me with the knowledge, skills, and practices necessary to navigate and identify promising opportunities, ultimately guiding me in successfully applying for desirable positions in London.
