Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

Choosing the University of Westminster was one of the best decisions I have made. I was drawn to its strong reputation for employability, its diverse community, and its location in the heart of London, a city I had always wanted to visit. Studying Computer Science here has given me both the technical expertise and the confidence to apply my knowledge in real-world settings.

One of the highlights of my time at Westminster was my placement year, during which I worked at Siemens within the ERP IT Authorisation team. This experience, supported by the university’s placement team, helped me bridge the gap between theory and practice and shaped my ambition to build a career in technology and cybersecurity.

Another of the most rewarding aspects of my experience has been taking part in the Westminster Working Cultures trips, which perfectly combine cultural exploration, networking, social life, and professional development. Through these programmes, I connected with students from different courses and colleges while exploring global industries in countries such as Germany and Japan. These trips helped me build lasting friendships, broaden my cultural awareness, and gain valuable insight into international working environments. They provided an incredible opportunity to learn beyond the classroom while forming meaningful connections with people from diverse backgrounds.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

For anyone considering studying in the UK, my advice is simple but important: be open-minded, get involved, and make the most of every opportunity. University is not just about lectures; it is about building connections, discovering your interests, and preparing yourself for the global workplace.
