Building Control Surveying BSc- 1995

My course helped me increase my understanding of construction, law and surveying. The classroom presentations helped me prepare for such presentations as well as undertaking public speaking, both of which I use frequently in my work and professional body activities.

What are you doing now?

I am a Director within a Building Control company, which itself is part of a Consulting Engineering Group. Our company employs 90 members of staff who are based within 12 regional offices including an office in Dublin. The Group employs over 500 staff based in 14 offices.

 

What did you find most valuable about your course at Westminster? How did the skills you learnt during your degree help you to shape your career?

Why would you recommend Westminster as a place to study?

Centre of London, with good transportation access and facilities.

 

What advice would you give to someone thinking of pursuing a similar career?

After your degree, there is more work to learn and professional qualifications is the next goal is gain.

 

Is there anything else you would like to tell us about yourself?

In 2014 I was inaugurated for 1 year as the National and International President of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers. This professional body has over 6000 members who are based in at least 50 countries.
