What I‘ve enjoyed the most are the people on my course. The tight-knit group dynamic, constant collaboration, and shared experiences create a network of working professionals and close friends. This collaborative environment is crucial in our industry, teaching us how to work effectively with a variety of people.

Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

Coming from a small town/village, the location was a major factor for me. I knew that the university's London location would open up numerous possibilities for work experience and diverse shooting locations. The strong representation of industry professionals in the university's alumni further convinced me, as many renowned individuals spent time studying at Westminster. 


During the open days, the campus stood out in a way I had not experienced at other universities I visited. The layout was remarkably open and interconnected with other creative courses. I liked the feeling of being surrounded by other creatives.

How has your experience been studying in London?

Studying in London was one of the best decisions, it pushes you out of your comfort zone alongside others who are experiencing the same. You change, shift and grow so much within your first year as you are exposed to so many new and interesting things, places and people. Being surrounded by individuals with diverse tastes shapes and moulds you into a more expansive and capable creative.

Tell us about your course and what have you particularly enjoyed?

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

The lecturers, working in various departments, provide valuable insights into different areas of the industry. Their diverse expertise allows students to explore and develop their interests while gaining practical advice on roles and industry dynamics. The lecturers have been instrumental in helping me discover the area that best suited my skills and interests.

Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?

The Media stores and studios are great places to enhance your technical skills in visual departments. The staff are supportive and willing to help you develop your skillset in departments such as production design, camera, and lighting. Additionally, learning how to work in studio environments and the extra efforts required for filming enrich the overall experience.

Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course?

With my interest in production design, I had the opportunity, through the university's connections, to attend the first production design collective conference with world-renowned production designers in Greece. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget. This unique experience allowed me to learn from world-renowned production designers, offering invaluable insights and understanding of the industry.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

If you're coming to Westminster, try everything, meet everyone and remain open to people. You have the opportunity to create and shape your learning environment. You'll meet the best people and have the best learning experiences here if you keep an open mind to it and everything; even if you think it might not be for you, it's absolutely worth a try.

What’s the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?

Access to facilities across various campuses allows you to meet people from different backgrounds and industries. Being part of a larger and open community provides a network of friends and teams to enhance your learning and career prospects.

What was a surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience? 

The unexpected journey of exploring different departments and fields before finding my preferred area of producing and directing. Although my path took me to various places and roles, the lessons learned from each experience transferred seamlessly into my desired field.
