Business Management (Marketing) BA – 2024
I liked that I could choose a specialisation that matched my interests.
Why did you choose the University of Westminster?
I had friends who were studying at the University of Westminster at the time, and they spoke very positively about their experience—particularly in marketing. After researching further, I found that Westminster had a strong reputation for its business and marketing-related undergraduate programmes. The central London location, industry connections, and focus on employability made it an easy decision.
What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?
One of the things I appreciated most was the consistent support from my lecturers, especially my course leader. Their encouragement, constructive feedback, and genuine interest in our academic progress made a big difference. The modules were also designed, providing a great mix of theoretical and practical learning that helped me apply knowledge confidently in real-world situations.
How have you found academic support as part of your studies?
Overall, the academic support was very good. My course leader was always available and truly invested in our development. That sense of encouragement and guidance had a big impact on my confidence and academic growth.
Tell us about your experience of using the University Careers and Employability Service?
I used the service while preparing to apply for my placement year, and the experience was smooth and straightforward. They helped me refine my CV, prepare for interviews, and offered useful workshops on professional development. Their support really made the process less daunting and contributed to me finding the right opportunity.
What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?
Be prepared to work hard and stay disciplined. Make sure you schedule enough time for independent study and research—it’s where much of the real learning happens. And take advantage of all the support and opportunities on offer, especially around placements and careers.
What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?
The flexibility and freedom to shape your own learning experience. I liked that I could choose a specialisation that matched my interests and that the timetable allowed some personalisation too. It made my learning journey feel more relevant and tailored to my goals.
What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?
The placement year option was a game-changer for me. I hadn’t fully appreciated its value when I first started the course, but looking back, it was one of the most important parts of my degree. It gave me real-world experience, built my confidence, and played a major role in helping me secure a job straight after graduating.
