Digital Marketing BA – 2025
One of the best things is the ongoing support - even after graduation!
Why did you choose the University of Westminster?
I chose the University of Westminster because of the personal transformation it helped me achieve. I started my journey lacking confidence and unsure of how to put myself forward. Westminster provided the environment and support I needed to grow—teaching me to believe in my ideas and bring them to life. One of the things I value most is the university’s diverse and inclusive community. Connecting with people from around the world has broadened my outlook and helped me understand different perspectives. Thanks to Westminster, I’ve had the confidence to launch my own side business, secure funding, and explore different areas of marketing and social life in ways I never imagined possible.
What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?
There’s so much I’ve enjoyed about studying Digital Marketing—it’s hard to pick just one highlight. The course gave me a solid foundation in both creative and analytical skills, from using tools like Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, to presenting ideas backed by data and market research. One standout experience was working with live clients. We developed real solutions for small businesses, helping them improve customer journeys, conduct market analysis, and strengthen their digital presence. This hands-on experience made a lasting impact on my confidence and professional growth as a future marketer.
How have you found academic support as part of your studies?
The academic support at Westminster has been incredible. I genuinely don’t think I would have come this far without the dedication and encouragement of the lecturers. They were there for us every step of the way, guiding us through projects and making sure no one felt left behind. What stood out most was how much they listened and cared. They celebrated our achievements while also providing constructive feedback to help us grow. Their support has played a major role in my academic and personal development.
Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?
Yes, definitely. We had free access to Canva’s educational suite as well as the full Adobe Creative Suite—including Photoshop, Illustrator, and even Adobe Firefly. The university also provided laptop loans, which was incredibly helpful for students facing tech issues or financial constraints. These resources made it much easier to complete coursework and experiment creatively without limitations.
Tell us about your experience of using the University Careers and Employability Service?
The Careers and Employability Service is one of Westminster’s greatest assets. The university actively encourages students to take advantage of it, and I’m so glad I did. Through their support, I was able to secure a marketing internship where I applied classroom knowledge in a real-world setting. It was a valuable stepping stone that gave me practical experience and boosted my confidence in the professional world.
Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course (e.g. course related trips, study abroad, sports clubs, societies and any competitions)?
Westminster offers a fantastic range of extracurricular activities. One of the most rewarding experiences for me was joining the Start-Up 101 programme, which helped me pitch my business idea and secure funding. This led to my participation in the Big Idea Competition, where I developed my concept further through bootcamps and mentorship. Additionally, I completed a one-month internship with Think Pacific in Thailand, which allowed me to strengthen my entrepreneurial skills, experience a new culture, and contribute to the growth of local communities.
What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?
Don’t limit yourself to your degree. Westminster offers so much beyond the classroom—from starting your own business to joining societies or attending networking events. Whether you’re studying law, business, or marketing, you’ll find opportunities to grow in unexpected ways. Be proactive, take initiative, and make the most of everything available to you.
What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?
One of the best things is the ongoing support—even after graduation. Knowing that you can still access the Careers and Employability Service after your course ends shows how invested the university is in its students’ long-term success. It’s reassuring to know that Westminster truly cares about helping us build a strong career and portfolio for the future.
What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?
I was pleasantly surprised by how many events, societies, and wellness activities were on offer—everything from networking nights to gym classes and Pilates sessions. These experiences added a lot of balance to my academic life and helped relieve the stress of assignments. It made my time at university not only productive but genuinely enjoyable.
