Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I chose the University of Westminster for its vast connections to the PR industry in London. I knew I wanted to move abroad to pursue my master's degree and my future career, but I wasn't sure where to start. The University of Westminster made the decision easy by featuring alumni on their social media channels, which made me feel like I would be able to build my network while working towards my degree.

How has your experience been studying in London?

My experience in London has been incredible. I have met wonderful people, been engrossed in multiple cultures, and enjoyed living in a large city. There was always something to do, and within a matter of weeks, London started to feel like home.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

The Public Relations MA is a challenging yet rewarding degree. Each module has terrific guest speakers; you have the opportunity to acquire real-life experience and work on assignments related to the challenges PR professionals face every day. I most enjoyed how the optional modules aligned with each student's interests. I am interested in branding and chose a module called Brand and Marketing Communications. This module has given us creative freedom and has taught us the differences in branding for various countries.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

The Public Relations lecturers are incredible. They are encouraging and supportive and genuinely want each student to succeed. Each term, we have a personal tutor session where our tutor advises on university work, career aspirations and life. I know after I graduate, our tutors will continue to be a great connection to have no matter where life takes me.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

If you are considering studying at Westminster, especially from abroad, I would tell you to take the risk and do it. Westminster has been the best experience, and the academic team works so hard to help you make connections with other students. Studying and living in London gives you experiences you cannot get anywhere else. I was nervous about moving to a new country to do a degree, but I could not have chosen a better city or university.

What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?

The best aspect of being a University of Westminster student is the different campuses across London. Each campus has its own perks, but nothing is better than walking out of a lecture after a long day of studying and seeing the sunset on Regent Street.

What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?

The most surprising aspect of my Westminster experience is how dedicated the university has been to ensuring students feel important. With Covid-19 continuously affecting my experience, I was pleasantly surprised by how hard Westminster has worked to ensure we get our education and that we feel each decision is in our best interest. I am so thankful that we have been able to have most of our lectures in person, meet our tutors and fellow students, and enjoy our time at university.
