Why did you choose the University of Westminster?
I chose the University of Westminster because of its central location in the heart of London, offering easy access to the city's vibrant culture and professional opportunities. I was also drawn to its strong industry connections, which provide valuable real-world experience and networking prospects.
What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?
What I enjoyed most about my programme was how well the courses were aligned, with just the right amount of overlap to help us see the bigger picture. We also had the chance to go on site visits to some of London’s most iconic buildings, which provided valuable insights and directly supported our coursework.
How have you found academic support as part of your studies?
The lecturers were incredibly engaging and supportive. They always responded quickly and were happy to provide extra help and detailed feedback when needed. They also went out of their way to ensure everyone clearly understood what was expected for each assignment.
Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?
One of the stand-out facilities was our access to the University library, which is well-stocked with valuable resources and literature related to Real Estate, making it a great place for research and study.
Tell us about your experience of using the University Careers and Employability Service?
I’ve used the University’s Careers and Employability Service to help improve my CV and cover letter, which was really helpful. They also recommended various networking events throughout the year, which gave me great opportunities to connect with professionals and gain insights into the industry.
Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course
Outside of my course, I am part of the Real Estate Society, which has been a great way to connect with other students and industry professionals. We’re also going on a field trip to Rotterdam as part of our course, which I’m really looking forward to. Additionally, I take advantage of the University of Westminster’s gym, which is conveniently located on the Regent Street campus and free to use. I’ve also attended several Real Estate networking events, which have been valuable for expanding my knowledge and building connections.
What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?
I would definitely recommend studying at Westminster, especially if you're looking to gain strong insights into the Real Estate industry, particularly in the area of development. The courses are well-structured, the lecturers are supportive, and the University’s connections to the industry provide great opportunities to learn from real-world examples.
What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?
I love being a University of Westminster student because of the strong sense of community. You’re surrounded by endless opportunities both academically and socially and the University’s industry links, and support services really help you prepare for your future career. Plus, there’s always something going on, from events and workshops to networking and student societies.
What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?
I was surprised by how approachable and supportive the lecturers were. I didn’t expect such a strong level of individual guidance, especially in a big city university. It really made a difference in helping me feel confident and well-prepared throughout my studies.
