For me, the best part has been the opportunity to meet so many talented and inspiring people, including both my lecturers and fellow students. Learning from their knowledge, experiences and different perspectives has been incredibly valuable and has helped me grow both academically and personally.
Why did you choose the University of Westminster?
I researched several universities while I was still in Sri Lanka, and the University of Westminster stood out because it offered the degree that best matched my interests and career goals. The course modules were particularly appealing and covered the areas I was most interested in, making it the strongest option compared with the other universities I considered.
How has your experience been studying in London?
Studying in London has been a completely different experience from back home. It's been an exciting opportunity, and I've had the chance to meet people from a wide range of cultures, learn from their experiences, and make some great friends along the way. The city's diversity has made my time at university both enjoyable and rewarding.
Tell us about your course and what have you particularly enjoyed?
One of the things I've enjoyed most about my course is the opportunity to tackle challenging problems during tutorials, which really helped develop my critical thinking and problem-solving skills. I also found my Final Year Project especially rewarding, as it pushed me to learn new concepts, develop practical skills, and apply everything I'd learned throughout my degree.
How have you found academic support as part of your studies?
I've found the academic support to be excellent. My lecturers have always taken the time to explain anything I didn't understand and were approachable whenever I needed help. They were genuinely interested in our progress and provided valuable guidance during tutorials, which really helped me build my confidence and understanding throughout the course.
What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?
Make the most of your university experience by getting involved in clubs and societies. At the same time, make sure you find a good balance between enjoying university life and staying on top of your studies.
