Why did you choose the University of Westminster?
I chose Westminster because I was first attracted to the course structures and modules offered by the Digital Media course, where I am able to not only learn the practical sides of media and communication, but also theoretical perspectives that could strengthen critical thinking.
Tell us about your experience of living and studying in London
After studying at Westminster, it essentially helped me to build my confidence and step out of my comfort zone, through helpfulness from staff and opportunities to be involved in the university’s community, such as the Student Ambassadors Programme, which not only enhanced my CV but also offered flexibility to earn extra income as a student.
What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?
For people coming to study in the UK, especially compatriots from Malaysia, be open-minded and bold; see it as a great opportunity to broaden your horizons and move beyond the past. We have the adaptability to accept different backgrounds and cultures inherent in our country, so no fear or worries! Also, bring anything you feel warm about, and consider getting a part-time job to help cover living costs.
