My course perfectly aligns with my interests in business, environmental responsibility, and social impact.

Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

Sustainability has always been my passion, and I was determined to pursue a career in this field, but I was surprised to discover that only a few London universities offered relevant programs despite the growing importance of sustainability. After extensive searching, I found the Sustainable Business Management BA at the University of Westminster, which perfectly aligns with my interests in business, environmental responsibility, and social impact. The university’s reputable status and positive student reviews further solidified my decision to choose it as the ideal place to advance my education in sustainability.

How has your experience been studying in London?

Studying in London has been an amazing experience that I truly enjoy, as living in such a large and diverse city offers countless opportunities to meet new people, attend a variety of events, and enjoy breath-taking scenery every day. The city’s lively energy and dynamic atmosphere motivate me to keep exploring, learn more, and embracing new experiences, making my time here both inspiring and enriching.

Tell us about your course (what have you particularly enjoyed about the programme?)

I appreciate that our coursework focuses on current, practical materials that equip us with useful skills and help with critical thinking across various fields like sustainability, marketing, analytics, and accounting. A highlight of the programme is seeing sustainability in action; this year, we visited a waste sorting facility and observed recycling processes first-hand, experiencing the realities behind concepts like the circular economy was truly unforgettable. Moreover, the University of Westminster’s sustainability team has shown us how campuses are becoming greener through initiatives such as improved waste management, cycling programs, and behind-the-scenes efforts, giving us a comprehensive understanding of real-world environmental solutions.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

My experience with academic support at Westminster has been entirely positive; all my tutors are approachable, friendly, and genuinely invested in our success, making it easy to reach out for help whether I had quick questions after lectures or needed more in-depth guidance. In addition to my lecturers, the Library Team and Student Centre have offered excellent support and guidance, ensuring I always felt well-supported throughout my studies.

Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?

The University has numerous green initiatives, with the Cavendish Living Lab standing out as a key highlight, focusing on innovative solutions to tackle food waste, plastic pollution, and wastewater challenges. I also enjoy the campus gardening areas, which serve as learning hubs for gardening and growing plants. Additionally, Westminster provides opportunities for hands-on sustainability training, such as the Carbon Literacy Project, and participation in conferences like the London Student Sustainability Conference, enriching our practical understanding of environmental issues.

Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course

I highly recommend conducting thorough research before applying by reviewing the modules and attending an Open Day. Speaking with current students provides valuable first-hand insights into the student experience, including assessments, support services, and campus life—helping you make an informed decision. Additionally, visiting the campus allows you to see the facilities first-hand and get a sense of where you might be spending the next few years.

What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?

The benefit of studying at Westminster is the wide range of opportunities available to its students. It's not just about the quality of education or the people you meet; it's also about the numerous activities, events, projects, and training programs you can participate in. I particularly enjoy the volunteering initiatives and study abroad programs offered by Westminster—definitely worth exploring! The key is to get involved in as many activities as possible to enrich your university experience.
