Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I chose the University of Westminster due to its exceptional location in central London, which provides access to international businesses, a rich cultural environment, and numerous networking possibilities. The university's commitment to enhancing employability really caught my attention, particularly with its international work placements, study abroad options, and the ‘Global Experience’ initiative - an incredible advantage for language students like myself. This blend of a global perspective, professional relevance, and supportive atmosphere made it the perfect choice for my studies and personal growth.

How has your experience been studying in London?

Studying in London has truly been a remarkable journey. The city has an outstanding transport system that makes it easy to get around, while the campuses in Westminster are ideally situated for easy access. With many libraries, cafes, and study areas, there’s no shortage of fantastic spots to focus or unwind. The lively social atmosphere in London makes it easy to meet new people, whether through university events or by visiting museums, restaurants, and cultural attractions. The rich diversity of the city ensures there’s always something fresh to explore, fostering an inspiring and vibrant setting for both living and learning - London offers a perfect harmony between academic pursuits and social experiences.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

I truly appreciate the student-focused approach of my course; it creates opportunities for vibrant discussions and promotes independent learning, which makes the learning experience incredibly engaging. The modules have been exceptional, covering various topics from history and culture to international markets and business strategies. Gaining insights into global affairs and diverse cultural viewpoints has revealed areas I might not have delved into otherwise. What I find most valuable is how the course integrates language learning with practical business applications, equipping me with skills that are essential for a successful international career. The journey has been both demanding and fulfilling!

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

The academic support at Westminster has been incredible. My lecturers have been extremely supportive and always willing to help with any challenges I’ve faced, whether it’s understanding complex topics or improving my coursework. They’ve also been really engaging, making lessons interesting and interactive while pushing me to achieve my best. Beyond the classroom, the academic staff have made sure I’m aware of all the opportunities available, from career workshops to study abroad programs, and have encouraged me to make the most of them, their guidance has made a huge difference in my confidence and overall learning experience.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

For anyone considering choosing Westminster, my suggestion is to fully embrace all that the university has to offer. Make the most of the fantastic academic resources, career services, and international opportunities available - they greatly enhance your overall experience! The inclusive and diverse atmosphere makes it simple to connect with others, so make sure to attend any events available and join societies since this is where you'll meet people. And if you're not familiar with London, make sure to explore it - the city is full of cultural and professional experiences that can enrich you academically but also socially. Westminster offers everything you need to thrive, but it’s your responsibility to use these opportunities and make your time here truly rewarding.    

What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?

The most unexpected part of my time at Westminster has undoubtedly been the incredible people I've met. I never expected to form such strong connections so quickly, yet they have become some of the most significant people in my life. These friendships have made my experience here truly memorable, and I will always cherish them. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the social events. Typically, I'm not the most extroverted person, but the warm and inviting atmosphere encouraged me to engage and truly enjoy myself, which has significantly deepened my sense of belonging within the university and its vibrant community.
