Human Resource Management MA – 2022
When choosing a university, I was drawn to Westminster for its vibrant location in the heart of London and its reputation for international students.
Why did you choose the University of Westminster?
My experience at Westminster has been nothing short of transformative. When choosing a university, I was drawn to Westminster for its vibrant location in the heart of London and its reputation for international students. The combination of urban buzz and academic rigour was exactly what I was looking for.
How was your experience studying in London?
What I liked best about Westminster was the engaging faculty. The professors were not only knowledgeable but also deeply invested in our success, often sharing their real-world experiences, which brought the curriculum to life. Besides, being surrounded by students from all over the world added a rich cultural dimension to my education that I truly cherished.
The social side of life at Westminster was equally rewarding. London offered the perfect backdrop for both work and leisure. I was fortunate enough to land a part-time job as a Recruiter at MMGY Global, one of the biggest PR agencies focusing on travel and hospitality. It was a perfect opportunity not only to apply academic theory at my MA Human Resources Management to practice but also to gain exposure to an international working environment. On top of that, I also found time to explore the city’s iconic landmarks, enjoy its culinary diversity, and attend events that deepened my understanding of various cultures. These experiences enriched my studies.
What did you do after graduating from Westminster?
Graduating from Westminster with distinction empowered me to confidently re-enter the labour market in Vietnam. Now, I proudly serve as the HR Manager at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Hanoi, a legendary and prestigious brand in hospitality. This is a significant step-up in my career compared with the time before the MA program in Westminster.
What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?
For other students considering studying in the UK, my advice would be to embrace every opportunity that comes your way. The more you immerse yourself in both your studies and the culture, the more rewarding your experience will be. London has so much to offer, so take the time to enjoy it while balancing your academic responsibilities. Studying at Westminster has been a journey of personal and professional growth; given the chance, I would definitely choose it again.
