Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I chose the University of Westminster primarily because of its impressive alumni network and the calibre of its lecturers. These were key factors in my decision to study here. Additionally, the wide range of extracurricular activities, such as the Gene Editors of the Future programme, has played a significant role in shaping my career. The university also consistently receives excellent reviews across successive cohorts.

How has your experience been studying in London?

Studying in London has been a fantastic experience, with convenient access to global resources and an international network.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

I particularly enjoyed the assignments and group projects throughout my degree, as they gave me the opportunity to develop my individual abilities and strengthen my communication skills through teamwork.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

I received excellent support from my lecturers throughout my studies, particularly from the course leader, Professor Godfrey Kyazze, and lecturers such as Dr Kalpana Surendranath.

Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?

The research labs are excellent facilities that provide students with the opportunity to develop practical research skills.

Zone29 has been incredibly helpful in supporting me with CV writing. It provided practical guidance that helped me present my skills and experience more effectively.

The Gene Editors of the Future programme was a significant extracurricular activity that I participated in.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

I would advise engaging with as many students as possible to build a strong network within your cohort and the wider university. Participating in extracurricular activities, taking initiative beyond course requirements, attending conferences, and making full use of university resources can greatly enhance your experience.

One of the greatest aspects of studying at the University of Westminster is being part of a multicultural learning environment.
